Introducing: Homeware by Dassie Artisan

Every item you take home by Dassie Artisan is individually handcrafted, ethically sourced and eco friendly. Made predominantly by women in small businesses in the developing world, you can leave Article with a clean conscience knowing you’ve contributed to fairtrade standards, and have helped keep in circulation centuries old production techniques that are passed down through generations. Made with raw, recycled materials that enhance a minimally rustic design, Dassie Artisan products are just as good for our planet as they are for your living room.

South African couple Roxi and Dave Zeenan are the creative force behind the brand based in Kent, who take their inspiration from places they’ve stumbled upon whilst travelling the world.

For Roxi, the business was a low-key project for her to work on whilst her children were young. After selling out of picture frames made by people she knew in Cape Town, it was apparent her customers took a deep interest in the stories behind her products. As the brand grew, this precept along with a commitment to Fairtrade sourcing remained. Eclectic and ethical, what’s not to love?
